Coffrin's Old West Gallery displays the work of early western photographer L A Huffman. This unique historical collection has some of the most beautiful photographs available today. Huffman came to Montana Territory in 1878 to serve as post master for Fort Keogh, located near present day Miles City. Noted for the clarity of his works, Huffman captured on film the essence of our early American Indian warriors, U.S. Army soldiers, buffalo hunters, bullwhackers, and others.
Reproductions of Huffman's work are available from the gallery. The L.A. Huffman collection consists of over 1000 negatives, with approximately 200 reproductions available at one time. The gallery is located about six miles from downtown Bozeman in Grand View Heights.
