Fairview is located in Richland County on the Montana-North Dakota state line north of Sidney on Hwy 200.
Just north of Fairview is the confluence of the Missouri River and Yellowstone River, where one finds Fort Union, one of the most famous frontier trading posts of all time. Visitors will also find Fort Buford, a military fort, and Snowden Bridge, the last dual transportation (autos/trains) bridge in the country.
