Operated by the Northwest Montana Historical Society, this history museum is housed in the elegantly restored four-story stone Central School building built in 1894. The Museum features exhibits illuminating local area history, including Northwest Native American Culture; Montana Pioneer Frank Bird Linderman; Northwest Montana Timber Industry; U.S. Forest Service; Early Kalispell; and a display on the turn-of-the-century community of Demersville.
The Museum offers tours, a gift shop with unique Made-in-Montana merchandise, the Grande Central Coffee Shop, and performance and meeting rooms for rent.
