Traces the development of Guilford County. Exhibits include an extensive military history collection, Dolly Madison and O Henry memorabilia, rare documents, decorative art works and a depiction of the 1960s civil rights movement lunch counter sit-ins. A reconstructed 19th-century Greensboro village displays a doctor's office, drugstore, schoolhouse, and antique fire engine. Other highlights include the 18th-century Christian Isley House and the 19th-century Francis McNairy House. Open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 2-5pm; closed city holidays. Free to the public.
