Located two and one-quarter miles west of Buffalo, a marker designates a point crossed by General Henry H. Sibley and his military expedition on August 16, 1863. General Sibley's Minnesota army entered North Dakota seeking Indians who had participated in the Dakota Conflict of 1862.
