Larimore is located in eastern North Dakota in Grand Forks County 30 miles west of Grand Forks.

Outdoor lovers tend to frequent Turtle River State Park located about 10 miles northeast of town. In addition, the town offers Larimore Golf Club to the general golfing public. The semi-public facility, built in 1969, features an open guest policy and a 9-hole, par 36, 3,050-yard course.
