McClusky is located in central North Dakota in Sheridan County (of which it is the county seat) on the banks of the McClusky Canal about 50 miles north-northeast of Bismarck.
One of the highlights of the fall season is "Deutsch Fest", an ethnic food fair usually held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Featured cuisine include Knephla (similar to dumplings), Strudel, Kuechla (a tasty meat turnover), Sausage, Kraut, Kuchen (sweet dough crust filled with custard and topped with fruit), Soups, Fried Bread, Blachendie, Pie and Homemade Ice Cream. Ethnic music by local artists add to the ambience.
