Parshall is located in western North Dakota in Mountrail County near the Van Hook Arm of Lake Sakakawea.
The town is situated just inside the northern boundary of the Ft. Berthold Indian Reservation and enjoys a prime position for outdoor recreation. Other than the lake itself, hunters are surrounded with game for the taking including waterfowl and deer. In addition, Parshall Golf Club, a semi-private facility built in 1947, provides an outlet for avid and casual golfers alike. The 9-hole layout covers 3,100 yards and plays to a par of 36.
