The history of the central Platte River Valley is the theme of this museum. Among the displays are a 1917 McCabe "Baby Biplane," a restored 1903 Baldwin Steam Locomotive, and such restored buildings as an 1860 log cabin, 1n 1885 Union Pacific depot and an 1888 one-room schoolhouse.

A 13-foot-tall Columbian mammoth can also be found at the museum. Visitors can view bones found in the area. The museum also houses a library and archives.
