This tourist train offers excursions to the town of Hooper, 15 miles NW of Fremont. There is a museum in the Fremont depot. The Fremont and Elkhorn Valley Railway is home to the Nebraska Railroad Museum. The train trip crosses the route of Major Stephen Long's 1820s Western military expedition as well as the Mormon Trail. Trips depart on weekends only and do not operate in winter.
