Occupying almost a hundred thousand acres along the South Dakota and Wyoming borders, the rangelands of the Oglala National Grassland contain native Nebraska grasses and a variety of prairie wildlife. Toadstool Geologic Park is a region containing mushroom like rock formations created by erosion.

Horseback riding, camping, hiking and picnicking are permitted as well as hunting and fishing under state regulations.
