The museum is located two miles north of Interstate 80. It traces regional history from prehistoric times through artifacts, murals and mosaics. Exhibits include a county jailhouse, replica of a plains sod house, and a county jail. The home of General Delevan Bates, a Civil War veteran and area citizen, is on site. The collection started in 1935.
