Gilbert Public Library, serving an area of 1,150 residents, has a collection of 11,500 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 29 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 44 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.
Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $3,100. Patrons make 4,600 visits annually, and check out materials 6,900 times. Thirty percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
