Named after President James Madison, the Borough of Madison is located in Morris County, in the Gateway Region, west of Newark between Summit and Morristown along State Highway 24 near the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. Madison is home to Drew University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival.
