From its mouth at Great Bay to its headwaters near Camden, this final 48-mile stretch of the Mullica River displays many interesting botanical features of the Pine Barrens River System. It moves through an area in the most extensive wildland tract in the Middle Atlantic Seaboard region. The River also provides many recreational opportunities because of its proximity to significant urban population centers in Philadelphia, Trenton, Camden and Wilmington.
