Rowan University, located in Glassboro is part of Gloucester County. Formerly known as Glassboro State College, Rowan University is a medium-sized state university with 43 buildings, which includes eight residence halls, a townhouse complex, three apartment complexes, a Student Recreation Center, and 33 computer labs.
The University offers 36 undergraduate majors along with six academic colleges which are Business, Communication, Education, Enigneering, Fine and Performing Arts, and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Rowan University was ranked in the Top Tier of public universities in the North and Kiplinger's named the University one of the "100 Best Buys in Public Colleges and Universities." Along with being in the Top Tier Rowan also has one of the strongest NCAA Division III athletic programs in the nation.
