The Musconetcong River, an excellent freshwater fishing spot, flows over and around boulders in Stephens State Park. An easy, but rocky, walking path follows the river with places for picnicking in shaded areas.
Amenities include: picnic tables, picnic shelters, group picnic facilities, group picnic shelters, and a playground; fishing; cross-country skiing; hiking; horseback riding; and biking and mountain biking. Forty tent and small trailer sites with fire rings and picnic tables are available. Flush toilets are within walking distance.
The park is located in northwestern New Jersey, south of I-80. Willow Grove Street 2 is miles east of Hackettstown or 7.5 miles west of Route 206 on Waterloo Road (Route 604).
