The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was penned by Washington Irving in the mid-19th century and has put the Village on the map. This area of New York State is blessed with a treasure of historical sites. Among them is the Headless Horseman Bridge, part of the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. The horseman can be seen on foggy nights crossing the Pocantico River when traffic is thin, but hasn't hurled his pumpkin head this century.
