Ross Park Zoo sits in a 90 acre plot tucked into the northern face of Binghamton's South Mountain. More than 100 exotic animals such as Coatimundi, Arctic Fox, Siberian Lynx, Bald Eagle, Snowy Owl, Mouflon, and Ball Python are found. It participates in the worldwide Species Survival Plan (SSP), designed to help prevent today's endangered species from becoming extinct. Currently the Ross Park Zoo is home to five species of SSP animals - Snow Leopards, a Siberian Tiger, Golden Lion Tamarins, Red Wolves, and Spectacled Bears.
