Rouses Point is located in Clinton County 27 miles north of Plattsburg along Highway 223 near Lake Champlain and in the Northern Region of the state. Rouses Point is less than a mile south of the Canadian border; a U.S. Customs and Immigration Service office is in the village. At nearby Island Point are the ruins of Fort Montgomery, which replaced Fort Blunder. The construction of Fort Blunder was abandoned in 1818 when it was learned that the land belonged to Canada. Vermont can be reached by the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge.
