Located on Center Street, this museum is housed in an 1873 railroad depot that came to be called the Servicemen's Canteen in 1942. Better known as `Dreamsville`, this depot was a popular stop for servicemen during World War II. Volunteers and the Salvation Army offered free food and comfort to more than 1.5 million transient soldiers. Seven rooms of displays include railroad memorabilia, uniforms, photographs and World War II relics. A 1950s caboose and locomotive are on the grounds. Food is available. Open Tuesday - Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 11am-5pm; closed major holidays.
