East Liverpool is located in eastern Ohio in Columbiana County about 80 miles southeast of Cleveland and 30 miles south of Youngstown along Highway 30/7 on the banks of the Ohio River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 5,611, a decrease of 98 since 1990.
Outdoor recreation is nearby in Beaver Creek State Park about 8 miles north of town and Yellow Creek Forest is 5 miles to the west. In addition, Highlandtown Lake is about 10 miles west-northwest of town.
For golfers, the town offers Cedar Hills Golf Course, a public 9-hole course and East Liverpool Country Club, a private club but with a reciprocal guest policy for those wit memberships in other clubs. The course covers 9 holes and is about 3,200 yards long and plays to a par of 36.
Local attractions include the Museum of Ceramics.
