Hiram is located in northeastern Ohio in Portage County 30 miles southeast of Cleveland and 15 miles northwest of Warren and about 3 miles east of the Cuyahoga River. The town is home to Hiram College which is noted for its unique scholastic study formats. Within the traditional 15-week semester are a 12-week session covering four subjects and a 3-week session where only one subject is intensely covered. Recreation in the area includes outings to Nelson Kennedy Ledges State Park about 5 miles east of town. LaDue Reservoir is about 10 highway miles to the northeast as well.
