Interstate 70 is one of the country's most important arterials running in an east-west direction. It leaves the Pennslyvania Turnpike in Pittsburgh passing through Wheeling, WV, Columbus, Indianapolis, St Louis, Kansas City, MO and Denver before reaching its western terminus at I-15 south of Salt Lake City.
In Ohio, the highway stretches about 225 miles intersecting with I-77 in eastern Ohio near Cambridge, passes through Zanesville, Hebron (just north of Buckeye Lake), Columbus (where it intersects with I-270 and I-71), continues just south of Springfield, through northern Dayton, exiting the state near New Paris.
