Interstate 90 enters the northwestern part of the state in Williams County heading east. It shares the first 140 miles with I-80 until they separate in Lorain County near Elyria. From there it jogs north and then east passing through Cleveland skirting the shores of Lake Erie and, after a brief southeasterly dip, turns northeasterly entering Pennsylvania near Conneaut.
