The Maumee River rises in Fort Wayne, IN, and flows in a northeasterly direction in northwestern Ohio on its 130-mile journey to Maumee Bay in Lake Erie.
The river passes through Paulding County, Defiance County, Henry County, Wood County and Lucas County. Larger towns and cities that grace its banks are Antwerp, Defiance, Napoleon, Waterville, Perrysburg, Maumee, Rossford, Ottawa Hills and Toledo. In all, 105 miles of the river flow through Ohio.
