Solon is located in northeastern Ohio in Cuyahoga County about 15 miles southeast of Cleveland. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 20,017, an increase of 1,469 since 1990.
Being on the outskirts of a big city has its advantages--like being just minutes away from a rustic drive in the country. Nearby natural resources include the Chagrin River about 2 miles north of town as well as LaDue Reservoir and the Cuyahoga River about 10 miles to the east.
Venerable Grantwood Golf Course, built in 1909, is a public 18-hole course that beckons golfers of all skill levels. The par 71 layout is about 6,300 yards long.
