Streetsboro is located in northeastern Ohio in Portage County about 15 miles northeast of Akron along I-80. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 11,996, an increase of 2,064 since 1990. Titus Street of Wallingford, CT, founded the town in 1798. Most of the growyh, however, occured during the 1820s with the first buildings, town square, cemetary, etc. By the 1870s the town was one of the largest cheese producers in the United States with an annual production of over 600,000 pounds. Outdoor recreation can be found along the Cuyahoga River just east of town as well as just east of town as well as [tinkerssp] on the western outskirts of town. CODE left
