Wauseon is located in northwestern Ohio in Fulton County (of which it is the county seat) 30 miles west-southwest of Toledo. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 6,944, an increase of 622 since 1990.

Ironwood Golf Course is a semi-private facility with an open guest policy offering 18 holes of challenge to golfers in the vicinity while Old Pines Golf Club is a shorter 9-hole layout open to the public.

Outdoor lovers are only 10 miles east of Maumee State Forest. In addition, the Maumee River can be accessed 10 miles south of town
