Marietta is located in south central Oklahoma in Love County and is its county seat. It is only minutes north (or east or west) of the Red River along SR 32 just east of Interstate 35 and U.S. Highway 77. Lake Murray and Lake Murray Resort Park are less than 20 miles to the north.
The town is chock full of museums including the Love County Military Museum (with artifacts from Civil War days through the Persian Gulf War), Norton's Indian Territory Museum (with an extensive bottle collection) and the Love County Pioneer Museum in the old Santa Fe Train Depot which was built in 1913.
