Cherokee - City County Library, serving an area of 6,000 residents, has a collection of 14,700 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 50 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as . Internet terminals are available for use by the general public. Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $3,900. Patrons make 6,000 visits annually, and check out materials 8,400 times. Eighteen percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
