Southern Nazarene University, founded in 1899, is located on a 40-acre campus in central Oklahoma in the Oklahoma City suburb of Bethany (Oklahoma County). The 4-year liberal arts university is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene.
Within the Division of Communication Arts are the Departments of English, Modern Language and Speech Communication while the Division of Science & Mathematics includes the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Computing & Information Systems, Mathematics and Physics. The Division of Social & Behavioral Sciences features the Departments of History, Psychology and Sociology. Other areas of study include the Department of Kinesiology and the Schools of Business, Education, Music, Nursing and Theology & Ministry. In all, over 70 degree programs are available.
Athletically, men compete in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer and Track while women participate in Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Volleyball.
