Western Oklahoma State College, a community college on 142 acres and established in 1926, is located in southwestern Oklahoma in Altus, Jackson County . It holds the distinction of being the oldest continuing two-year college in Oklahoma. The College's service area includes Greer County, Harmon County, Kiowa County and Tillman County as well as Jackson County.
