Kiowa county is located in southwestern Oklahoma with Hobart serving as the county seat.
The entire western county line is shaped by water beginning in the north by the North Fork of the Red River. The river then feeds Lake Altus-Lugert which in turn releases the river below the dam on its journey south. Other recreational opportunities can be found around Tom Steed Lake and Great Plains State Park in the southern portion of the county.
Interesting historical sites in the county include Devil's Canyon near Lugert; Kiowa County Courthouse in Hobart and Camp Radziminski near Mountain Park.
