As the third largest public gallery in Ontario the Art Gallery of Hamilton is home to one of the most diverse collections in Canada. Our permanent collection is comprised of over 7,500 works of art including key historical, modern and contemporary artworks. The Gallery also has strong holdings in British, European and American works, and is internationally recognized as having one of the finest collections of Canadian art. We are located in the heart of downtown Hamilton. The Gallery presents a broad range of outstanding temporary exhibitions, including the work of local and national artists, traveling exhibitions and works borrowed from other Canadian institutions.
