This National Historic Site of Canada includes what is reported to be the highest lift in the world (20m/66ft); the lock is operated from May through October. The natural beauty of this historic waterway corridor continues to draw large numbers of boaters and car travellers. The visitor's center offers a slide show which interprets the Trent-Severn Waterway, as well as audiotapes and park brochures. Two-hour sightseeing cruises are offered during operation of the locks, and four-hour dinner/dance cruises are available in July and August.
