This remote campground is located in the Deschutes National Forest at a 4,500 foot elevation and has 14 sites for tents, trailers and RVs up to 30 feet in length. There is no piped water, but picnic tables, fire grills and vault toilets are provided. The campground is open from mid-May to late October and no reservations are accepted. There is no fee for camping here.
The campground is adjacent to a longstanding bird blind and even in summer, there is little use.
To get there, drive 30 miles east from La Pine on USFS Rd 22, then south on USFS Rd 18 for six miles to the campground. For more information, contact the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District.
