Dawson House Lodge was built in 1929 to serve travelers in the early days of
Highway 97, and the railroad, just as it does today. It was called Hotel Chemult, and served as a boarding house for railroad and highway workers. There were 12 rooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, with a bar and dance hall downstairs.
Dawson House Lodge has been remodeled to reflect comfort and charm, as it continues to serve as a haven for travelers through beautiful Central Oregon.
The 5 hotel rooms in the original building are all on the second floor with private bath, satellite TV, telephones, and individual access to the veranda.
Continental Breakfast - Fresh ground coffee and homebaked morning breads, fresh fruit, juice and tea are served.
Our additional choice in lodging, are our 3 motel rooms added to the original hotel in the 60's (continental breakfast not available as a cost saving service to our guests).
AMTRACK is one block away! We are happy to transport our guests on request.
