This single-span reinforced concrete deck arch bridge is a good example of Conde McCullough's engineering and artistic design. When the bridge was built in 1927, it was skinnier. It was doubled in size on the seaward side in 1940.
There is a pedestrian underpass at the north end so that visitors don't have to cross Highway 101 traffic to reach the whale watching center.
