Milo McIver State Park, only 20 miles from Portland, is popular with picnickers from the metropolitan area. Camping facilities include 44 electrical sites, three group camping areas, 9 tent sites, and a hiker/biker camp. Three reservable picnic shelters are also available. Max RV, 50 ft.
The park comprises 937 acres of lawns and woods on a series of natural terraces above the Clackamas River, which can be explored by raft, canoe, or kayak. From a memorial viewpoint near the entrance, the panorama includes three prominent peaks--Mount Hood, Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams.
The north area is the primary day use area. Broad rolling lawns accented by large maple and Douglas fir trees cover this section of the park. Picnic tables and occasional fireplaces are located near each of the major parking areas.
