The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness comprises 68,700 acres within the Malheur National Forest in Oregon. Within it are many alpine meadows, subalpine forests, and glacial lakes.
The highest point is the peak of Strawberry Mountain, which rises to an elevation of 9,038 feet. Among the spectacular views afforded hikers and backpackers is the scene around the head of the John Day River, looking in the direction of Strawberry Mountain.
