These are managed for the production of commodities such as timber but also for the recreation opportunities of the general public and the conservation of resources for future generations.

For some reason, the US Department of Agriculture decided to put its name into the old standby "U.S. Forest Service," producing "USDA Forest Service." Other than figuring out what cabinet secretary this all reports to, it's hard to see why this was an advantage.
