The county seat of Polk County, Oregon, is
Dallas. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 62,396, an increase of 12,855 over the 1990 census. Polk County, in the northern
Willamette Valley, extends westward into the Coast Range. The county covers 745 square miles.
Highway 99W connects the county with other communities on the western side of the valley
