Jersey Shore is located in central Pennsylvania, within Lycoming County. The community was originally called Waynesburg, but during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, many settlers arrived here from eastern New Jersey, so locals began calling the town Jersey Shore. The town is part of the Williamsport, Pennsylvania metropolitan area.
