About 3,000 acres in size, Promised Land State Park is in the Pocono Plateau, 1,800 feet above sea level, and is surrounded by 12,464 acres of Pennsylvanias Delaware State forest, including a natural area. The forest consists primarily of beech, oak, maple and hemlock trees. Two lakes and several small streams add to the parks outstanding scenic beauty.
Promised Land lies in the heart of the Poconos. Two lakes, campgrounds, many hiking trails and beautiful scenerey make the park a popular destination in all seasons. Within the park you can still see the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps done in the 1930s. A seasonal musuem explores CCC contributions and area wildlife.
Promised Land State Park is in Pike County, 10 miles north of Canadensis, along PA 390.
