Built in 1683, the Vieux Seminaire is the oldest building in Montreal. It has been occupied by Sulpician priests for more than three centuries. During the period of French rule, the Sulpicians used the manor to manage their extensive holdings. The clock on the top of the facade, which was installed in 1701, is one of the oldest of its kind in the Western hemisphere.
