Jefferson is located in Chesterfield County northeast of Columbia between Pageland and McBee along Highway 151 near the Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge. Jefferson is a town situated in northern South Carolina near the border of North Carolina.
Jefferson is a small community located approximately halfway between Charlotte and Columbia. Jefferson is a rural area rich in agriculture producing melons, tomatoes, soybeans, cotton and tobacco. The area was also home to a small production of gold at the Brewer Gold Mine, which is dormant now.
