Igloo was a military town during WWII, but now has few remaining residents. It got its name from the many "igloos" in which guns, ammunition, tanks, etc., we're stored. Igloo was considered a "sister" town to Edgemont. The old hotel, which is still standing, was famous throughout Fall River County for hosting wild saturday night parties.
Over half of the original public buildings are still standing, and in decent condition.
