In Great Lakes Region, Mobridge is located in Walworth County north of Pierre on US 12 near the confluence of the Grand and the Missouri River. It is bordered on three sides by Lake Oahe.The great majority of visitors come for the nationally renowned Fourth of July celebration highlighted by the annual Sitting Bull Stampede or for hunting and fishing.
Hunters come from all over the United States to hone their skills at bagging sharptail grouse, pheasants, whitetail deer, antelope, and mule deer. Varmint hunting and predator calling are fast becoming popular sports which visitors return for year after year.
While Mobridge is the walleye capitol of the world, fisherman enjoy landing several species. Northern pike, salmon and catfish are popular and are caught in great abundance.
