Search Pierre South Dakota

Okobojo is a ghost town that once thrived on the rolling prairie smack-dab in the center of what would later become known as the great state of South Dakota.

It is fortunate that Scott Green, a descendant of one of the pioneering families there has created his own fascinating web site, with photos, including the extensive family cemetery.

There remain a Lake Okobojo, Okobojo Creek, and Okobojo Point on Lake Oahe north of Pierre.
